That’s below the level where this path usually starts to flood.

This flood line starts from years of this gauge’s history — the level the river only tops a few days a year. Reports of a flooded or passable day will tune it to the path itself.

About this path

The tree-lined riverside routes on both banks of the Ouse south of York city centre, linking Skeldergate and Blue Bridge to the Millennium Bridge — a busy commuter cycling corridor towards Bishopthorpe. Both banks flood whenever the Ouse overtops, cutting access to the Millennium Bridge, and the council lists both among paths regularly unusable at high levels.

Flood Path is advisory and not safety-critical — river readings come from public feeds with no guarantee, and conditions can change fast in heavy rain. Use your own judgement on the day.
