The usual gauge for this path (Clifton Ings Outfall) has stopped reporting — feeds pause sometimes. This reading comes from the nearest live backup gauge instead.

Falling — down 3 cm over the last 5 h

That’s below the level where this path usually starts to flood.

This flood line is still a starting estimate. The first reports of a flooded and a passable day will calibrate it.

About this path

The traffic-free Sustrans route across Clifton and Rawcliffe Ings, used by commuters from Rawcliffe and Skelton and riders heading to Beningbrough. The ings are an operational flood-storage washland that deliberately holds millions of cubic metres of Ouse floodwater, so the path is routinely inundated — it was rebuilt in 2022 with a flood-tolerant surface.

No reports in the last 24 hours. If you’ve been down, you’d be the first.

Flood Path is advisory and not safety-critical — river readings come from public feeds with no guarantee, and conditions can change fast in heavy rain. Use your own judgement on the day.
