That’s below the level where this path usually starts to flood.
This flood line starts from years of this gauge’s history — the level the river only tops a few days a year. Reports of a flooded or passable day will tune it to the path itself.
About this path
Meadow paths between the Mill Avon at Abbey Mill and the Severn at the Lodes, carrying the Severn Way and Tewkesbury's classic abbey-view circuit. An unprotected hay meadow between two rivers, the Ham floods completely most winters — it is what makes Tewkesbury an island in flood photographs — and paths can stay under for weeks.
